British Grand Prix: Verstappen Leads Tight First Practice

Max Verstappen led the field in a tight first practice session for the British Grand Prix ahead of Sunday's race.

Verstappen's First Silverstone Win

The Dutchman, who won his maiden Silverstone race last year, set the fastest time of 1:18.892 on the soft tires.

Intense Competition

The session was fiercely competitive, with just 0.116 seconds seperating the top three drivers. Lewis Hamilton, in the Mercedes, was second fastest, while Ferrari's Carlos Sainz was third.

The rest of the field was closely bunched, with less than a second covering the top 10.

Red Bull's Dominance

Red Bull's Sergio Perez was fourth, ahead of the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

The second practice session is scheduled for later on Friday afternoon.
